In Action

When God places something on the heart, it is cherished by the believer and sinful to forget it.  In the pursuit of God, we must know what it means to respond to Him and know it’s not always easy to tell if it is God until we start to invest in God.  As we say is this your will, lead me and have your way.  Glorify your name.  The greatest thing to have in this life is you, so take the first place and take the rest away, to be left a vessle for you to fill, if your ready he might call you, if you’re uncertain he’ll spend the time to grow you to where he wants you to be.

With this, don’t be frantic to see God, because he will meet you.  Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.  God will provide the means as we trust in him.

What is required from such a love, a love that purchased us from our debts into the riches in Christ. What does he require of us, why did he do it? For His name and because He first loved, first overcame, first rose. As spoken on Friday, love usually has something in return, when we serve others we might expect something back, some community, but more if it was a specific love that God in his foreknowledge gave his Son to be rejected by man who first rejected him, to meet the requirements he set at the beginning of time. That love requires community. WE are required to love others yes but God more because he is the source of love. When tempted to sin we are lacking in Love, the community with God that tells us we are his and we have a purpose in HIm. How do we know that purpose, we spend time in prayer and learn more about God, let him be a part of our lives, so when we live we can go as he went, heal the broken, make a difference.

Tonight Millions go out to the street, and meet the frost and the pavement. The city is great with the highest height and the lowest low where people are lonely and people reject eachother eASily and even those who have nothing dont seek help. HOPE which is homeless street count group goes to the street to find ppl, often children who left the homes, who dont have a place to stay. They are mostly there to count, but they represent help for those who usually aren’t approached or who dont know help. It’s a cold night. where will u be sleeping.

find the burden God is placing, maybe it’s school, family, a classmate or maybe it’s a country a group oversea. Pray to God about it and see if he lays anything on ur heart.

Shield of Faith

I’m being reminded of God wanting to work and direct which requires me to be able to listen. With so many distractions and with many situations we get used to like sitting in front of the tv and waiting till the last minute to sleep, it’s not easy to hear or spend time with God. I sat in front of my tv and knew somethign was missing. Not only are my standards lowered with constant images of adultery and revenge but I was lacking because I had a thirst for more. It wasn’t a drastic move but i tried the internet and did some regular searches and even work related research and was able to get a glimpse of God as I unfolded some of Louie Giglio’s blog. His passion shared with thousands in the vision to make God known doesnt end with a religion but with people actively living – building wells in Africa, sharing the gospel and praying for brothers in need.

I go home to reflect on my day and continue to be humbled. Not only am I weak and confused, I’m in much more need for God’s direction.  I say weak because I’m still distracted in wanting to do what I ought not do, and confused because I need more direction.  I remember as I was eating luch at work and my boss and others actually starts talkign about God which one would think is a great opportunity to speak of what GOd did for me and why I believe. However I’m still a bit timid and want to have a more direct answer to things that were being spoken about so I dont come off as preaching, but as someone who is knowledgeable of the topic. It’s important how we present ourselves and its important to present the gospel in a way that it could be heard by the people listening. I pray for another opportunity but more that I’d be better prepared with knowledge and willingness to speak.

A couple of topics: (1) belief in multiple religions, (2) question to how valid the writers were and what was their motive, (3) belief that God doesnt care much about what we do

I believe if i’m more prepared, God will give me the words next time to speak in the right time for the little time I might have to speak.

Simply God speaking in the ordinary

I was getting up this morning with a mind set to do a morning devotional, but still struggling with what to study and with my need to sleep.  I wind up getting up late and still tired after 8 hrs of sleep.  I’m still in bet at about 7 20 and I have to leave at 7 30 to speed to work on time.  However, the normal God please guide me this morning was not enough and God tugged at me for a bit more time.  I asked God to lead me and not to forget the power of his name, and not to be rushed for things that matter less because God can make my situation.  If I would be late it would have been my fault because I should have gave myself more time.  Eventually I get out the door about 7 50 and had to opportunity to help a neighbor before I left the block.  Fortunately to my surprise, I heard on the radio that traffic was a breeze because of the holiday and made it to work with ok time.  My boss was even late so things went well.

I dont condone getting late to work but its more important to be on schedule with God.

I also must confess that I did rush out the door and prob could have been more careful and avaliable to God.  I winded up forgetting my work ID but God still opens doors and as i came in there was another worker there but even more apparent of God leaving a door open, there was a huge moving crew that was bringing in boxes so that they left the door propped to deliver the goods.  And another part was my dad was talking when I left and I had to cut him off, and I felt wrong. I thought i could call him in the car and along the way to the car a neighbor needed a car boost.  So I called my dad and asked if he could help because he was off for the day.  I had a car booster in my car and gave it to the guy and asked if he could give it to my dad cuz i was already late.

God spoke a gentle whisper and a little obedience and conviction created a testimony.

My Journey begins

The search for God is a struggle with learning to live differently from the past and learning how to live for greater things without forgetting the importance of current things.  However, God appointed us with certain responsibilities  that we need not struggles with as we turn our eyes and dependency on Him to guide us.  In the ordinary, God is made extraordinary and starts the testing of our faith.  As we trust God in our day to day experiences, we’ll be reminded of a lifestyle we chose not to live and tempted in situations we’re weak in which should remind us that we are empty and need more of God to fill us up.  If you’re tempted please hold off and see if God wants something more of you.  Keep a bible or memory verse or audio ipod with a sermon or praise song near if needed to remind you of something God is speaking.  God is just a prayer away and as we understand a little more of him we see there’ s much more to understand and we experience the overflow he promised.
